Litmus, the web application we use to test HTML emails in various mail clients, sent out a sizable PDF worth reading if you’re at all involved in developing of HTML email.
The PDF is all about the state of email and the changes that came in 2015 and the ones coming in 2016.
It’s 55 pages, but maybe skim it to get the gist. The basic things to get out of it are the fact that Outlook continues to be the lowest common denominator that is years behind any other way of looking at email and all that cool stuff you’ve seen done on the web probably won’t apply to HTML email — unless you’re ok with certain clients getting a vastly different view than the best mail clients.
