Cool little trick about making the navicon/hamburger menu actually the menu — just shrunk down utilizing some CSS transforming and a bit of jQuery. I don’t think it’s nearly as cheesy as the author does. Think it’s a great idea overall.

We’ve all been asynchronously loading JavaScript for many years, but it hadn’t even occurred to me to asynchronously load CSS to speed up (and give even more perceptively speed) for that initial load and render.
